This substantial end terrace property had reached a dire state of repairs with much of the fabric having received little if any maintenance since its original construction in the mid – late 1800’s. The entire external fabric was completely overhauled and repaired including new slate roof covering, structural roof repairs, overhauling of all external joinery and box sash windows, substantial repairs to both random and Bath stonework including the replacement of many ornate carvings.
Internally the property was completely stripped of its existing décor, period features were retained, repaired and / or replaced throughout including ornate plaster cornices, deep moulded skirtings, panelled doors and joinery and internal shutters to box sash windows. The entire property was creatively decorated inside using Farrow and Ball paints to provide a contemporary feel to what remained an elegant period property.
A sympathetic extension was added to the rear elevation together with a refurbishment of the basement cellar so as to provide additional utility and storage space together with a dedicated area for plant room and services.
The entire property was completely rewired and re-plumbed incorporating additional bathrooms and en-suites throughout. The new kitchen was installed complete with granite worktops and period fireplaces were overhauled and / or sourced from salvage yards to replace damaged / missing items.
