The complete refurbishment of a grade 1 listed 5 storey Georgian property that had fallen into disrepair. The property had been occupied by squatters and prior to that it was a tired commercial office that had not been refurbished or maintained for circa 40 years. Our client acquired the property in order to carry out a refurbishment of the highest standards and convert the entire property (in excess of 10,000 square feet) back into a residential dwelling complete with specific entertainment areas, guest suites and staff accommodation.

The project entailed the reinstatement of period details including specialist cornices and plaster mouldings, restoring original period joinery, the installation of specialist parquet de versaille flooring together with the latest modern conveniences including a complete rewire of the property, security alarm systems, fire detection system, a fully integrated whole house audio/visual system together with wireless controls and computer IT networking. Between the main 5 storey house and the rear mews was a courtyard. Extensive structural work was carried out in order to provide the inclusion of a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gymnasium within the basement.

All works were carried out within a very tight timescale of under 7 months and the project was handed to the client on time. The project received notable reviews from both agents and property journalists specialising on the London residential market.
